The most disappointing thing is...

when someone whom you are close to, cannot understand you.

Especially during those times when you need him the most.

I told you my side of story. What I really need is just a hug.
Is that too much to ask?

I know I shouldn't blame anyone.
But as you said, I'm sensitive. if I tell you, you keep to yourself.
I'm really disappointed and upset. How can I tell you anything in future?

I'm tired. Of everything.
Juggling both sides is really tiring. And I'm really trying to make an effort

Archery SP open 2012

I'm weak! I'm tired! hahhaa. I just shot metal bow for the first time ever since my "grand" comeback. Ok. Not actually grand, but still...can't I just imagine myself as a royal and announced it as "Grand"? I can nearly hear my mum and sister puking in one corner. Ahh...still, I'm a "Royal". Ok. I gotta stop kidding myself.

Been busy training for SP open for the last few days and then the competition was last weekend :) All I can say is, I feel that I did much better than I expected even though I didn't win any medal. I hit my goal, and broke my personal best, way way much better than my training scores which is so "cui" that I really felt like pulling out back then. But I can't disappoint my team mates and Coco. And of course, I'm dying to go back to competing again.

Day 1:
I wasn't nervous at all. Mainly because it's just ranking, and there's not really much stress and pressure. All I did was to focus on my form, get it right, and have faith in my bow. Came in ranking 8th :)) At first, it was thought to be 7th. But there's some mix up due to having same score with another archer that I only got to know that I am 8th on the second day.

Day 2:

AHhh...the most nervewrecking and heart pumping, legs and hands jelly....the IKO event. (IKO = individual knockout). I was too nervous. I forgot about maintaining my form, and hands keep shaking that only Charmanda noticed I think. And alas! I got knock out by my opponent.

Knockout..but I'm still happy :)) At least I hit my personal best :)) Thanks to coco for helping me sight. <3

Slack around while waiting for TKO event...

I was complaining to Coco that my shin is so sharp that I looked like evil elf.

And he said: "Yea...even chingg also looked scared of you." LOL.

Next event is TKO (Team knockout event).

Well..T-rex is her nickname we always called her, much to her annoyance. hahaha.

Shopping in Jipaban for CNY

Heard of Jipanban?

I'm sure you do! It's an online shopping website for everyone, both males and females, especially for people like me, who love shopping online as I don't have the time to shop physically in stores outside. :)

I have bought things from Jipaban before, and I love their items and their delivery is fast too! Very reliable. :)

For me, if I have $100 Jipaban voucher to spend, OMG! I love their clothes and accessories and shoes!

Here's the items I would choose if I have the voucher to spend:

I'm not a very dressy person, so I will normally choose a nice top to go with jeans and accessories. I will get this bright coral top which can bring out the cheerfulness and the walnut bag to go along with it. Love them!

And not to forget, buy accessories and shoes to go along!

As I am a short person, I love to buy this kind of shoes (shown below) to add to my height, and make my legs look longer. And not to mention, getting this bracelet!This bracelet add the sophiscated look to it :)

Or I maybe I should try wearing dresses often! How about getting a nice, blue dress with a long necklace and match it with a shoulder bag!

And also buying some accessories and shoes to match:

There are so much more things to buy that I am spoilt for choice.

The consequences of camping and photoshoot...?

Mosquito bites and some weirdo insect bites that have some of the itchy lumps swell until as big as a 50 cents coin. And very swollen and itchy :(

I have been wanting to do lots of cards and drawings during this vacation, but I guess I desperately need a break after a long term of studying and mugging, plus there is only a month of vacation, I just want to make full use of it to enjoy my time outside and trainings.

Now an adult, too many responsibilities and worries as compared to days as a child.

How I miss tmy childhood :)

This semster pre-examination period feels so weird. I used to study with my archery mates, but most of them all IA and exchange...and somehow, no news from the others. Its feel kinda weird and lonely studying alone in a big spacious room filled with unfamiliar and noisy people.

Anyway, I am pretty annoyed with these foreign students. I'm not going to say their race or anything because its not racist nor anything. I was walking to the washroom and two groups of people standing at the corridor..i assume its two groups of people because they are both of different race. LOL. Anyway, back to the topic, I said "excuse me" quite a few times, but both groups with back to me, simply either cannot hear me or ignore me. So I just sqeeze past them, no pushing or anything. All goes well. But alas! The washroom was under cleaning process! So I have to walk back and the same group of people there again.

This time...there is this girl who is facing me, but her friend beside her is back facing me. And another group, that person also back facing me, and both are back to back. Annoyed, I said "Excuse me" again, this time louder. And I swear that the girl who faced me should know what situation I am in, where I was looking at her friend, and her, and saying "Excuse me."

Normally, the scenario would be that if you are the one who saw this person wanting to walk past, you would tell your friend to step aside right? NO! This idiotic girl...she just stared at me and just stared for like few seconds when I am saying "Excuse me" so many times...and I was getting real pissed! So not wanting to waste my time, I just squeeze past them, and unavoidably nudge one of them aside while giving that girl my coldest stare. I mean, come on! There is this basic courtesy! I am not being biased or anything, but I just feel that they lack manners. I don't care if they are foreigners or anything...but they are still humans. That girl....I hoep something similar will happen to her one day, so she will know how I felt!

So much for venting...i'm still fuming when I thought of it. Blah!

I am too tired to write properly due to intense mugging today!
Can't wait for exams to be over...which will be in Dec.

Lack of blogging due to incoming exams! STRESS. And loads of work piling up. I just completed my elective! :))

Anyway, I was feeling really restless, and didn't have any mood to study. So I made x'mas card!

What can be the most horrible experience for you when you are all ready going to attend a formal event, when something unpleasant thing happen? Right....your shoe fell apart. It happened to me last tuesday...and not one shoe but BOTH SHOES!

Imagine how frustrated I was, stranded at the NTU's overhead bridge, not being able to move an inch because my right shoe fell apart, left one still intact. I called my mum, and venting frustration on her (which I felt so bad because it isn't her fault), and I keep asking her "How?How?How?" And I was so tempted to take cab home without attending the event at all. Its only an hour away from the time of event start! I called my friend who was still on the way to school and asked her helped me buy elephant superglue and scotchtape...maybe there might be hope. When there wasn't anyone around, I slowly inch forward toward the Macdonald, hoping to find a seat and sat down while thinking of what to do...when the worst thing happen....MY LEFT SHOE FELL APART! I was like..."OMG..OMG...Please...NOT THIS!"

How horrible is that? I was soooo pissed off! At that time, I was still sick, down with a horrible blocked nose, and this unfortunate thing happened :(

Can you see this? Its my right shoe...my left shoe isn't any better either.

So plan A gone, and come Plan B. I called my friend again and asked her if she can help me buy a pair of pumps from Jurong point. She was such a sweet soul! She said okay..and you know...purchasing pumps for other people can be a real headache because you don't even know what kind of shoes she prefer and her size. I am too desperate. Then I take refuge in the toilet...imagine...sliding here and there with two broken shoes...its pretty embarrassing.

Then I called another of my girlfriends and one of them came by with her own slippers...bless her heart!

So I threw my shoes away and walking out of the toilet with her pair of slippers, and went to the library to wait for my friend. by the time, its already like 30 minutes before the event start and my friend was still searching for my pumps and can tell she get quite irritated cos' I kept calling her! hahhaa!

But thank goodness she found a pair and she came straight to school, a mere 10 minutes before the event. And tadah! I got a new pair of pumps :)) Thank you sweetheart!

And guess what....Its my first time purchasing a pair of shoes from elsewhere beside my Dad's shop. LOL.

For some pure panic moment today, I felt lost.

Its a sudden moment where one second I felt normal, listenig to lecturer droning on and on, and i suddenly thought of my audiometrician's letter, I felt so lost and empty.

Just my emotions..which keep me thinking, where will I be if I am perfectly normal?

Will I appreciate the things that people do around me?
Will I have the chance to explore things that I want to explore but couldn't?
Will I learn to have a heart for those who are not fortunate as me?

Somwhow, I feel kind of sentimental.

And I feel so blessed to have friends who care. Without them, I won't be able to cope with my studies. Or else I might not be where I am today.

Thank you my friends...to those who have been helping me alot in my schoolwork and being my listening ear when come to lectures and tutorials. And for letting me taking home their notes and copying them down when I was totally lost in lectures. Thank you to those who repeat the words said without losing patience. You know whoever you are, thank you :)

Thank you to my sister who helps me to listen to lecture recordings sometimes when I cannot catch the words said, even though we fight most of the time. Thank you to my mum, who gave me encouragment in her own ways, even we seem to be quarreling all the time. Thanks to my aunties, who have always being giving me encouragement and word of advices since my primary school :)

And thank you to my boyfriend, who has always been there for me and accepting my flaws while sticking close to me. For being patient with me and telling me that I am still beautiful even with my hearing aids on, though I disagree on that. LOL. :)

I admit...that its really tough for me to get through primary school to poly. It was my family's decision to put me in a normal school instead of a special school, which I think they want me to have a normal life as possible. So, if is not for my mum who forced me to study way before my peers...(to put in accurately, she made me studied during vacation before new school term start...that's how strict she was with me because I guess, she worried I will be losing out to my peers), I will never be able to catch up.

And now its even tougher to be studying in university where everything are mostly on listening and lecture notes are always not available until the day before or the actual day itself...so I can't study way beforehand as I used to.

Its really tough and difficult, so much so that I feel like dropping out of school in those private moments where I am alone, reflecting.

But somehow, I feel blessed to have such wonderful people around me, and it keeps me going.

Finally, I am smiling again.
Hopefully, it will stays that way.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

Presidental election has come to an end, and the result is that Dr TT is our seventh president.Was very disappointed that TCB didn't win, and he lost by just a margin of 0.35% votes.So many spoilt votes! If not for those, maybe the other candidate might stand a chance.

Anyway, I hope Dr TT will work even harder to prove all of us that he is worth the post. Well...I really hope so.
And hopefully, he can revise the price of the HDB flats and the waiting time... ;) So won't have to worry about marrying in future right? LOL.

Sometimes in life, I always look back at my actions and regret them. but its always impossible to turn back the time, and you try so hard to make yourself a better person. Its hard. I smile everyday, laughing joyously as I spend time with people I am so close with, and yet at the same time, couldn't help feeling sad inside when I thought of people whom I wanted to spend time with, but somehow, its just me and my personal reasons.

Its past midnight. I should be sleeping. But no...those itchy rashes that has been causing me to lose my sleep for a week...they are still itching. Ah.Well. I hope they will be gone tomorrow. That what i always wish a week ago.

ahhh..! I have a really humorous lecturer, teaching us cancer biology. And I actually found his blog thru' a friend of mine! Witty posts.

There's one part in the lecture where he was teaching us about the restriction point in cell division, when he explained that the R point is an irreversible process (something like that). So to make it more simplified and understandable, he explained it in the terms that many cultures have. The term where he out it as "I love you."

"A guy brings a girl out for a date... and look dreamily into her eyes and said... 'I love you. 我爱你。saya cintamu. Or..."

And he couldn't say the phrase in tamil, so he continued, "...or whatever this language is. If you can find a guy who can speak that, you marry him. He got the talent. "

"And the girl said, 'Um...maybe we could just be friends."

"Its TOO LATE. You have cross the R point. Irreversible process."

LOL.

Hurray! Last week of hols! Ok. You may think I am nuts, but seriously, I am wayy too tired of working already. I am feeling the urge to study and to stop worrying about work. :)) And next...I made cards! Its based on a customer's orders, my cousin actually. Formal thank you cards! :))

I am starting to be a workaholic. Attachment at Duke-NUS is not enough and I went to land myself in another full time job at La senza. So its like working 8 hours in attachment, and then rushed off to work another 6 to 8 hours in La senza. My friends think I am really crazy, and my mum nagged at me, and one of my friends think I am just driving myself crazy with all the work and tiredness. Boyfriend just stood by me and accepted why I need to do that. He understood...no question asked and didn't complained. Sweet him. :)

So this of course make me absent from blogging for a while. I felt guilty for neglecting my crafts. And I am having off day today...such rare occasion that I feel that I need to relax as much as I can before starting work later in the afternoon...which is in few hours time. I just ended my night shift at SGH yesterday morning and boy-O...I am so tired! So, I feel I just need to relax as much as can...so no crafting as well.

Working from 1pm to 10.30pm before rushing off to sgh and worked from 11pm to 7 am is no joke. I was practically almost falling off my feet while attempting to nap while standing up in a crowded train on the way home in early peak morning. Giving a scowl and a grunt at my mum when she nagged how its my fault that I chose to work like this when all I want is to sleep and to make her quit her nagging...and venting my anger on boyfriend instead...and he's still patient with me about it. Sweet him again. hahahah! :)

Now its past midnight. I wish for more off days...but sadly, no. Right-O...I have to go to sleep soon.

For the time being, let me enjoy my few minutes of break before I wake up to the long day of work again.

COPIC MARKERS :))

Its' my first time trying copic markers, colouring my stamped images instead of watercolour pencils, and I say....I really LOVE it! And my verdict is....BUY copic markers :)

They are way way much easier to blend!

The downside is that they are very pricey though. One marker costs about USD $7. That's pricey enough for a person who is not even working.But thanks to my aunt, who bought the markers as a birthday gift and also for me to try them out since I expressed my interest to her in the first place. :)) She understands my needs, mainly because she is an artist herself. :))

So here's my result:

They look really like printed out! Or maybe I should say I blend well. hahah!

I am just excited to see how they turn out, and I am so amazed how well those markers blend with each other :)) Here, I used "make a wish" peeny black stamps and copic markers.

And I have been busy baking chocolate chips muffins as well!

Father's day card for my dad

Happy Father's Day to every dad in the world :))

I made a card for my dad to accompany together with the dinner my siblings and I bought for him while waiting for him to comes home from work. Hope he loves the card! I made a card that has a horse since he loves horses. :)

I just so love the card that it turned out!

The card as well as the horse is cut using my silhouette machine.

The grass is stamped and the butterfly is punched out using the butterfly punch :)

Isn't this card is awesome ? Ok. I just love this card...so hopefully my dad does too :)

I couldn't show the inside of card because it has already been written on, but basically, its a white background stamped with branches stamp using chalk ink. Alright! That's about it. Got to clear my crafting table. Its a mess :(

Finally! Je t'aime collection is up!

Eternal Love circle card:

I never like making circle cards.

I feel that they are really difficult to design!

Nonetheless, I decided to try making one, using my silhouette SD and cut out the circle base card and the frame, and then embossed using my Big Shot. I love those machines :) And finally, a lovely quote stamped using memento ink black, and distressed ink on my flowers, adding a rhinestone to its center and a ribbon for finishing touch..

Hold My Hand Card :

Beautifully dry embossed with Sizzix floral design, background stamped using Garden Flower Inkadinkado stamp with memento black ink. And stamped with a lovely quote for your soul mate. I just love the quote! Rhinestones and ribbons added for finishing touch.

Heartfelt thanks Card:

Beautifully dry embossed with Sizzix floral design using my Big Shot, and stamped using Hearts and love inkadinkado stamp using memento black ink pad. Card base is cut out using my Silhouette SD. I just love the shape!

And finally...Flourish Butterfly Card:

I cut this out using my Silhouette SD and then wet embossed with glitters and finally distressed it with Tattered rose distress ink, adding rhinestones for finishing touch. Lovely shape and design, isn't it?

procrastinating...procrastinating...procrastinating

I am starting to laze. Less blogging...procrastinating. Now that I started on my attachment, and doing rotational shifts, there are less and less time for leisure, when all you want, is to get home from work and sleep. Eat, and sleep. What a lazy life. Finished exams, started attachment straightaway...really no time for leisure..so when there is time, I don't want to blog, or craft...or anything..just sit there and play games or watch movies. Shiok.!
And guess what? I just bought two machines! A Big Shot and Silhouette SD machine, with a couple of embossing folders, scoreboard and loads of ink pads.! I can't wait for them to arrive here...and imagine tonnes of crafts projects that I'm gonna explore. Perhaps, maybe that will prompt me to blog more :)

More money spent, no money earned...I'm poorer now. And one thing about being into a craft hobby, spending just kinda sucks. You get good stuffs, but lighter pockets. I much hope for a big windfall on my parents the next day...which can never gonna happen unless there's a real rare luck. Good karma huh?

ok. Maybe I'm gonna start on another card collection. A love theme this time? Maybe. I'll try not to procrasinate and get them done. I planned to get them done by end of last may...but...fail. hahaha. Ok. I'll get them up by end of this week. I hope.

Right now, I better get on to dry my hair and go to sleep. It will be a long day tomorrow. i desperately need a real big break from everything. Sigh.

General Election and Youth Birthday Cards

Now there is this hype on General Elections. Sad to say, I am not a very political person, but somehow, I learnt quite a few here and there about certain opposition parties and some general views. Seem interesting! It seems that this year, the GE is the hottest topic as compared to few years back, probably because now the younger generations wants more voices to be heard and hmm....opposition parties are getting to gain more favours?

I won't talk about anything here since I am clueless about politics. So its seems not right for me to say it right? But I do have a few opinions on my own of course. :))

A conversation between my mum and I:

Me:"You know who is fighting against who in tampines?"
mum:"Dunno lah"
Me:"Then how you know who to vote?"
Mum:"One lightning, one hammer. See which one you like lor..."
Me: "Zzzzzz........"

My mum can be quite humorous without meaning to. And she's outdated lahh..Now is not hammer. Its the sun (NSP). Though I wish that they could have send a stronger opposition party to Tampines GRC. I have not heard anything from Tamp GRC's NSP.

But right now, I should be worrying about the coming exams! Trust that the GE is put at the wrong time of the year. Its even on NTU's exam day itself. Hiyo. Tsk tsk.

Putting that aside...arhhh! I finally update my blog! hahaha. ! Ok. Not suppose to actually, as I should be mugging. But I just can't resist posting. Relieve stress you know? :) I just learn how to bake cupcakes and cookies!. My cupcakes is a success...but my cookies? They are as HARD as a rock, but still as nice. Ok. gotcha try better next time! And next...posting up my another two cards of the same theme! Its a mad decision to make actually. I came back home from school around 10pm and I just flopped down there and start making. And to my surprise, I feel the stress lifting off my shoulders. Cardmaking can really do me wonders! I was really extremely tired that night. Too much mugging and long hour of travelling.

WOMEN WHO KNOW THEIR PLACE

Barbara Walters, of 20/20, did a story on gender roles in Kabul, Afghanistan, several years before the Afghan conflict.

She noted that women customarily walked five paces behind their husbands.

She recently returned to Kabul and observed that women still walk behind their husbands. Despite the overthrow of the oppressive Taliban regime, the women now seem happy to maintain the old custom.

Ms Walters approached one of the Afghani women and asked, 'Why do you now seem happy with an old custom that you once tried so desperately to change?'

The woman looked Ms Walters straight in the eyes, and without hesitation said, 'Land mines.'

My aunt emailed me a lovely story :)

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words. Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy.

That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognised his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?".

The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way." I wrote: "Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it."

Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people that they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story:
Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you
have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

Valentine and anniversary dinners

I dunno if I am a pampered girl or something. But somehow, things happening at home and increasing workpile, makes me feel alittle emotional and somehow, I just wish someone can pay more attention to me. Not because I craved for attention, but I just need someone to care so that I will feel much better. Is that calling pampered?

I have started working part time and I never think how tiring it is trying to juggle the time between work and studies...and going home late. Pretty tiring. But I am still hanging there :)

I promised myself to make a March card collection by end of this month, but I think, I will have to break that promise. But of course, I'll certainly try to upload March collection! My crafting hands are itching again :)

On the side note, this has already been long ago, but I just had to put the photos up. I had an anniversary dinner and a 10-course valentine dinner with B :) I made him promise not to give any flowers because I find flowers are a waste when they wilted...although I love flowers very much :)) So we decided to go and have dinner. We both just love eating! And also, a valentine dinner with my girlfriends. :) Yummy!

Mint Lemon Drink

The Mint lemon drink is really mild sour. Not what I expected but in the end, B went to squeeze the lemon into my drink and it tastes much better :)

And B sucked his own lemon. ZZzzzz....he loves lemons too much. I tried...but too sour for my taste by just lemon alone!

This is really yummy! The prawns were flamed using the ...erm...what's that called? Fire something..those blue flame, infront of us and not to mentioned the garlic rice and their chili sauce. Awww.!

And to think that was the same dinner we both had on the day B asked me to be his gf. Hahah! Maybe the food wow me most and melt my heart :))

Fishing for the first time

Ahhh...I never knew fishing can be so relaxing and fun :)) Went fishing with my family at Bedok jetty for the first time and honestly, I just never thought that fishing is really fun, when you are anticipating for fish and getting all excited when your fish rod is vibrating like mad and ta-dah! A fish got caught!

Ok. I didn't caught any fish. I almost caught one...my rod was vibrating and I tried to reel in but cos' being a first timer, I couldn't get it reeled in and the fish got away. From then, I couldn't catch a single fish. My siblings caught one or two and my youngest brother...manz....I should tell you this funny little story I heard later part in this post. And someone caught a huge stingray! Wah piang! And the person just beside me when he brought up the stingray, shouting to everyone to clear. So yesterday night, caught maybe like 10 fishes in all.

Then my dad wanted to go back there around midnight to the next morning to catch more fishes. I think my family got hooked. whahahah!

I didn't follow them back cos' I have poor night vision, so I stayed at home and put on my face mask and fell asleep right away with my mask still on my face. -.-"

Then the stories came the next morning and its kinda funny.

First, its freezing in the morning...my family went around midnight. Then I heard things like how my youngest brother, who was so mischievous and refusing to listen to them not to anyhow throw the fishing lines...he kept hooking his fishing lines to other people's baits until everyone stay clear of him. LOL.

Then guess what happened?

My brother went to throw his fishing line again...and started reeling when he felt something on his rod and excitedly reeled in faster and then he shouted " I CAUGHT PRAWNS!!" and he keep reeling in, before he noticed a string attached to the prawns and followed the direction and saw the owner of that unfortunate fishing line staring at him. My brother must be damn pai seh. LOL.

And my sister..she so lucky! She was just randomly reeling in her fishing line cos she wanna change place or something when she felt something vibrating and saw that she caught the belt fish by its belly. LOL. TWO times somemore.

My other brother was commenting something like " The fishes must be too sleepy then swim here and there and got caught to sis' fishing hook." and my cousin was commenting, "The head avoided the fishing hook but body too long, so cannot avoid the fishing hook."

So funny when I heard that. And my dad...hiyo..he's so amusing. He caught those really small fishes while others caught bigger fishes and my dad just said " Only lucky people can catch small fishes." and my teen brother just scoffed. whahhha!

And the most amazing thing is...guess how many fishes they caught this morning?

89 FISHES!

Manz....my grandma was so damn happy to be cooking all of them .

my first exploding box

I suddenly feel like making an exploding box. I'm so inspired today :)

I didn't focus much on the design, but much rather worried about whether it can "explode", cos' its my first time trying it out. And not what I expected...but still..it does explode a bit :) I think the lid should be much tighter. Just a mere 1 mm difference. But cos' of my left hand getting cramped due to too much cutting paper, I decided not to redo the lid. It's still make a nice appearance anyway :)

I always love blue colour theme :)

But as for time management...its really bad. I took almost the whole day just to do one tiny box.

random blogging...I'm bored

I'm feeling kind of empty. Why? Cos holidays ending today, midnight. Or rather, tomorrow for me since I have to go for my physiotherapy so skipping my first day of school. I havent even go to Botanic Gardens :(

And I just bought some tops from Gmarket (I hope I can wear them!) and 3 boxes of 10 my beauty diary face masks. Gotcha! Strawberry yogurt, Mixed berries and Apple masks. :))

Now here I am blogging, waiting for my parents to off work so that my family go to Giant later. Me gonna buy some stuffs for something :) Happy happy :) Mum's gonna help me with it. Not gonna say it here though. A secret :))

Ok. I can hear mum's at the gate. Hahhaha! I'm just randomly blogging just to add some new writing into it. Lame eh? But hey...you love reading my blog!

Trattoria Cucina Italiana @ 313, orchard road

Went to had lunch with my friend at Trattoria Cucina Italiana cos' we wanted to try something new. So we came upon this cafe where the decoration is good where its look very Italian-style and very classic and the ambiance is quite relaxing, so I thought that it might be good.

We ordered lunch set meal (main course + drink) for $9.80 and a $2 upgrade to soup of the day.

Our drinks came first. My friend ordered ice lemon tea and I ordered honey lemon tea. The ice lemon tea is really nice! However, my tea isn't that nice...I think I make it nicer. LOL. I didn't take pics though cos' of lousy cam quality.

Next is our soup of the day - Chicken chowder

Taste is average. I prefer Chef's Daniel @ bugis illuma 's soup :))

The bread cubes has this sour taste...I don't like it.

Then our main courses:

My friend's seafood pasta (can't remember the exact name):

For me, its not that nice as well. The ingredients is too little and the prawns are too small.

The taste is very bland and well..I just find it average.

Hot tomato's seafood aglio olio is way much more delicious.

My salmon pasta:

I'm a very big fan of pasta and salmon. My expectation is quite high when come to salmon and pasta and I rate this as thumb down.

I never expect the salmon to come out like this and the taste is really very very average. Its abit hard...I think they cook abit too long so the meat is abit tough and the tomato sauce is a little salty? I think too concentrated. Overall...its not up to my expectation. I have to add cheese and chili flakes to cover up the salty taste.

And my table was just right in front of the chefs' kitchen. And to my displeasure, I saw a chef kind of fighting or quarreling with another staff and they were like pushing here and there while the chef was still cooking. Maybe they were playing? But it's make a bad impression. For me, I prefer the kitchen to be serious with their cooking and practise good hygiene. This will make the food come out better, isn't it?

For a set lunch meal of $9.80...I don't think its worth the value, for me, I will not visit again...until they are featured in some news or something..then I will come back and try again. For now...I won't recommend this to my friends.

Back from camp

I'm back from camp...like two days ago. hahhah! And its really a blast! thanks to the organizers and the rest of the members. I entered camp with a slightly heavy heart since I am not so close to the juniors and all due to my absence from archery and came back with a happy and sunburnt face. Although there's some people I really couldn't connect to and was feeling rather bitchy about it. Ahh..I'm not perfect saint.

Had a talk with my mum about my school after I told her my results. And she was saying that I should quit school and pursue my own interest instead. Zzzzz. She should have encourage me to do that from the start when I can really switch in year 1. And now she singing a different tune after my brother got top in his cohort and attached to Fusionpolis due to his interest in IT. And me? I think I'm going nowhere with my lousy results.I seriously cannot study. Back in poly..I score much better in practical labs instead. I dunno why, but my brain seems to be working very well when I see wires and me trying to attached to the correct ports and getting signals. Ooo..now I miss engineering. Should have choose bioengineering instead of biological sciences...where bio science are all memory work and no logical thinking. Shucks. But I should try to make the best out of it since I'm there already.

Really really tempting to quit school and find my interest elsewhere in other schools or start working...but the thought of wasting my dad's money for my last 3 semesters...I must be determined to complete it with much improved results. I should focus more on my studies now that new term is starting in two days times. And to think I have to skip my first day of school for my physiotherapy session and hand surgeon appointment.

Yes. I think that will be my resolution. To get much much improved GPA. :) Now that I'm out of archery temporarily...(i hope!), I won't have any excuse to do badly now right? Gambatte!

Just did stairs climbing and stationary cycling and I'm feeling so refreshed.

Been busy making cards yesterday for this collection. I just feel that with the coming new year and valentine, pink and black theme seems good! Mum told me this collection is different from my previous cards...more fresh looking and vibrant :)

Here's my cards. I really should buy new camera. My faithful 8 years old camera..its quality isn't good at all. I had to use photoshop to correct it but the colour for individual shot isn't good, so do refer to the whole collection picture for true colour :)

Trigger finger

I have one big mouth ulcer right deep inside near my throat... so freakin' painful! Mousewash couldn't even reach it, and I tried salt, but it doesn't help. So now gonna try winter melon frost instead. I hope it will be gone by tomorrow cos' gonna eat at AMK, and I so much wanted to eat at that place since my operation! Hopeful :))

Just came back from my physiotherapy today and my therapist told me that I'm having trigger finger. Uh-oh. That's bad. Its something like inflammation in my tendon and she wanted me to cease exercising my hand and holding things to avoid more strain on my index finger. Shucks. Seems like i have been putting my left hand to loads of work that my index finger is now protesting. Lazy finger! Ok. I'm kinda stupid to be talking to my finger at this moment of time.My therapist did the ultrasound on my index finger's mount...wahh..electric shocks shooting here and there, that she had to lower the frequency. Nerves still growing. :))

Ahhh.. so what should I do next now?

No exercising my hand...and bf said i'm out of shape!

Yea..I admit I am. Hmm..should I go cycle now? :))

One confession.

I'm the worst card player in the whole .. erm..my own world.

From young till now, I'm never good in card games that involves strategy and brain power and memory...and another word...fast. Reason is...I just hate to think, and I'm slow, and I'm downright super blur queen. That's my famous nickname in sec sch and poly you know...friends called me a blur queen. Even up till now. Serious.

And it so happened that yesterday, my friends decided on playing "Bang!" that my heart kinda skipped a bit and my headache gotta worse and I just play blindly and hoping to die fast. wahhahah! Ok. That's not a good thinking, but even I, myself, admitted that I'm the worst card player when come to planning and strategy. Even a friend of mine said I just anyhow "Bang! Bang! Bang!" and bf said that I am not a helpful vice sheriff when all I can do is confiscate his "gun" and still die that early. LOL.

I'll stick to card games that doesn't involved in any thinking nor planning.

Come on people...want to play a game of poker?

Now on the other matter, I dunno why I'm feeling this way...but I feel kinda drifted off from the clique yesterday. Oh well. I just feel it doesn't feel the same as before. Like not as close as before. Maybe cos' of my long absence? Now, I suddenly don't feel like going for camp. Awww..go away, to whatever negative feelings.

Maybe due to me not feeling well yesterday.

I just watch Alice in the wonderland on my laptop.Kinda late, I know. Hahaha! And I just love it. So imaginary and fascinating, talking animals and a big bulbous head. And Alice finally know what she wanted in the end. If only I have this kind of adventure, to find out about myself, and to unleash the real me. :)

Went out with archery clique yesterday for dinner and its so much fun, catching up with them after being absent from training for so long! And I bought sticky rock sticks, kiwi and sour cherry cola sweets :) Yummy!

Now, on update on my left hand, its recovering ok so far, but it just left the annoying scar adhesions at my wrist and I kind of suspect the surgeon may have stitched the skin together with the tendons or ligaments because it just can't seem to separate itself no matter how many times I did my stretching exercise, paraffin wax bath and silicon gel application. Stubborn scar tissues. Sensation is still the same though...numb.

On the brighter note, at least my left hand can flex my fingers fully now, not for middle finger but much better than the past few weeks. :)

Ok. Gonna watch another movie :)

Start of the new year

Its the start of the new year. Bad 2010, and new 2011 :) I used to make new year resolution every year but this year, nope. Cos' I will never be able to fulfil them due to my laziness :)

But one thing definitely is...I have to work out! Its has been 2 months since I last workout and now I'm feeling those fat days almost everyday that I told my mum I want to start running. But mum was still worried about my hand injury which has still not recovered and still very weak...well..no strength to do those strengthening exercises I was asked to do, she forbiddened me to run downstairs at the stadium nearby. But she knew that I will go crazy if I don't do any workout so guess what she did?

Tadah!

Got this brought over from my uncle's house and put it in my room! So I'll be using it until my hand regains strength and my physiotherapist and hand surgeon give thumb up for me to go back to my usual exercise esp archery...if i'm not lagging very far behind?? I hope not. :)

And another happy note, my face is clearing up :)) Not very well but better :) I hope its not due to my period problems....brrrr. But honestly, since pre-exams, it has been breaking out like crazy until even bf asked why like that and he bought me blackhead remover and mineral infused face primer :)) Mad lovess. <3 Since then, I started using the face primer before going out...it gave a really matte look if i go without foundation and if i choose to put foundation..it gave a very smooth gliding and covered up most of my ugly pores :))

I always get breakouts after makeup the next day that I never dare to put until now. I started putting light makeup now and he bought me this make up remover , Mandom cleansing express brightup, which is really good (well..for me) since its water based and I tend to break out easily if its oil based. Its pretty good and I think its the third best makeup remover mentioned in a magazine.

I am not sure where bf bought this, but i think it should be at watson :))

And best thing about this is, you don't need to rinse or anything after using it.

So for a lazy person like me, its definitely a good product. Hahaha!

Mum asked me to make cards since I'm so bored at home and now archery trainings started today and I feel so depressed about it cos' I kinda miss archery trainings. Oh well. I tried making one card..but its a disaster, my left hand couldn't feel the texture of the paper and there's isnt any strength to hold the paper down while cutting it and I just sorta gave up and dump my papers one side. I think its kind of the first time I feel really depressed about my cardmaking...but never mind..at least I can use my right hand to draw :))

ok! I started on my first coloured portrait! I'm not sure if I gonna ever finish it since I find it hard to combine colours to get the right tones and esp when I'm using a 9-year-old colour pencils..their tips isn't really that great since its erm..old?

Should I finish it?

Ok. that's it about this post. My left hand is getting the aches and tired.

I just finished a non-fiction book "Many lifes, many masters". Its as true story of a prominent psychiatrist and his patient, and how they explored past-life therapy that changed their lives.

A quote from the book: "We have to go through a renewal stage, a learning stage and a stage of decision...Its all growth and learning...continuous growth. Our body is just a vechicle for us while we're here. Its our soul and spirit that last forever."

Another quote:" Only we can rid ourselves of the bad habits that we accumulate when we are in physical state. The Masters cannot do that for us. If you choose to fight and not rid yourself, then you will carry them over into another life. and only when you decide that you are strong enough to master the external problems, then you will no longer have them in your next life."

Those quotes are from the Masters, as claimed by the author, where the Masters are those spirits that guide or higher level than the spirits (like us)?

Seemly its written by a very reowned doctor, its seems that reincarnation is possible. So in other words, we will never die.

Many things sound complicated, but as I was reading it...I just feel that it makes sense. so in other words, we need to learn to trust and forgive, and to share our knowledge and wisdom. And to be rid of our bad habits.

I should be more optimistic. I was telling mum 2 days ago how sad I felt when I passed by the range last sat and seeing my mates shooting. I just feel really sad. And she just said,"When things need to be given up, just give up.Concentrate on something else that you can do." (No..I wont give up archery!)

Yes. I am thinking of the possibilities of shooting using wooden bow instead. For time being, I will concentrate on my arts.So I should explore more into my talents and rid myself of the insecurities and negative thoughts.

I'm wondering...the people around me, have I had any relationship with them in my past life? The patient, mentioned in the book, she remembered that her present-time boyfriend was her killer in her previous life, and now they are always fighting and her fear of him. Or her close friend(present time) was actually her father in previous life. And the author treating her, was her teacher in previous life.

And she described how it feels like to die and get on into another life. And it sounds comforting, and it diminished the fear of death.

Arhh..complicated. But I just like reading and pondering about this kind of stuffs.

I just came from physiotherapy. December, I will be starting on my strength training for my left hand, right in the middle..SMACK..of my exams. I should do time planning, But I'm looking forward to the strength trainings. I want to recover fast and get back to archery! Now, I really miss the muddy field and running for shelter under the rain and aiming arrows at the big fat yellow. :)

I'm removing my splint 2 weeks later! :))) I can't wait!

I think I feel bessed meeting nice people around me. Helping me with my school work, buying and carrying food for me, sending me what they type during lessons to me so that I can catch up, photocopying heavy textbooks.

I think, before my incident, I never noticed or appreciate the beautiful things and people around me. There's alot of "what ifs" running through my mind.

I suddenly have an inspiration, but I cant draw it out with one hand. I hope it will be still stuck in my head when my hand is well enough to move freely.

Ahhh... I miss drawing now.

Update on my condition:
Its still giving me nerve pains all the time and its the most painful in the morning waking up, that didnt give me the energy to wake up, and dead tired when coming back home. I feel so old. But I'm still trying to get the hang of being one handed.

Mum try to make me laugh by saying I should train my right hand to be fast so that I can type in bullet speed. lol.

Everyday is a torture. I thought the pain is most maximised before and right after surgery. I'm wrong. Its seems like now, its my worst moment of pain. Muscles pulling, pins and needles piercing through my three fingers and my thumb, every moment even at night. I couldn't sleep. Nightmares every night.

Medication makes me feel alot worse. so much worse that I decide to skip the painkillers and tolerate the pain rather than to eat the painkillers and tolerate the gastric attacks and tiredness. I hate to be bedridden. Im off painkillers now, but my left hand is killing me like hell, but best thing is...I'm still wide awake. The doctor say this will continue for about 2 months. 2 months! Mum tried to lift my spirits up by saying two months will fly past with a blink of an eye.

I try to focus on what I want to do once I recover. So I must recover by being positive :))

I have many dreams now on what I will do once I recover...which will be 2 months from now..December...hopefully.

Once I fully recover...

1) I want to go back to Bugis Illuma with him to eat seafood platter

2) To fly a kite at marina barrage or near Jurong Safra

3) A eating mission with the archery clique..if I'm invited.hahaha

4) Visit the archery range... i can't go back to archery anymore though...

5) A date to the Botanic Gardens and photoshoot with him ( if he's okay with it)

6) to celebrate christmas on christmas day with anyone! who's wanna date me? lol

7) shop with friends...I don't care what is, but I just want to spend time with them

8) Visit to Underwater World

9) sit in cable car

10) To reward myself once I fully recover by buying my dream machine. I'm determined.

Maybe I should come up with something to enable me to count my blessings.

School just started and its hectic enough. It makes my brain stop working, and my body functioning as slow as a snail. I always feel so fatigued the moment I reached home from school. And then, back to archery actual training again.

A senior told me frankly that my form is getting worse ever since I took up metal bow.People standing around me telling me all the stuffs that make me feel disheartened and making me lose confidence in myself.

I think I don't have a head for technical details. I almost want to burst into tears when I tried to adjust the limbs and got the thing scratch...more like dug a hole into my riser, and I just suddenly feel like crying and saying that I wanna quit. Just because of the small little thing! I am such a quitter. Thats a bad thing. Am I?

Ahhh... I gonna stop here.

YOG archery : always on target

Saw this on my friend's share link on face book, and I just like it :))

It has been very hot lately, and very humid today, and somehow, it just sort of kill my eagerness and passion to shoot today. I just wish the earth is back to those old days when the temperature isn't that hot. Blame those who cause the global warming. Seriously, I'm worried about the sort of dangers the world is right now. What's wrong with all those terrorists and people who create nuclear bombs and all sorts of nonsense? Harming the world for their own benefits. I guess I'm kind of in a touchy mood today, I guess. I feel really bad for making bf unhappy all the time whenever I vent my anger and frustrations and yet he's still so ever patient and happy go lucky. Like just now. Bless him and I'm sorry. :(

Sis is now over at grandma's place to look after grandma since my relatives are off flying somewhere overboard. And there's isn't anyone to bicker with. I'm bored... and I just need to talk aimlessly, and sis is the only one who will just let me talk while she will mug and asking me to keep quiet, and I will just ignore her and continue talking until she just ignore me and mug. LOL. It's nice to irritate her sometimes, and she will of course irritate me back...after she finished her mugging. Honestly...I don't know how anyone can mug like 24 hours a day nonstop. -.-"

Where's my passion to shoot? Being bothered about the idiotic weather that has been making me very moody..(i just hate hot and humid weather), and dealing with financial matters and my personal problems. All these bombing into my mind, its really tiring. I was really tired when I sat in the train ride on the way back home, thinking about all these and even my mind couldn't take it and i just fall into sleep, almost missing my stop. I never even wake up once throughout the whole ride.

Sometimes, it will nice if I can just stow away in a ship and sail away to the faraway island where there's food to eat and no worry at all.

YOG archery mixed team event

Went for YOG mixed archery event yesterday. I think the atmosphere there and watching it online is a little different. Supporting singapore, the atmosphere there was really intense and everyone chanting for a ten and groaning when the opponent scored a ten or a nine instead.

Went there about two hours earlier to get good seats but in the end, it wasn't necessary since not much people came for the semi final rounds. More came during the final rounds. LOL. And I spotted one female archer who has almost the same style as me, which all the while, I have been trying to correct it and I spotted someone who has same style as me, just that she leaned far back when she pulled before releasing.. and she got second in place. Hhahah! Maybe I'll just stick back to my old style since my new style has been giving me lots of problems. Ok. Archery terms. LOL.

I had a terrible flu and sore throat yesterday, now slightly better today. I think I am gonna skip training tomorrow. Had lunch with Queen, at swensen's where there's this 1 for 1 lunch deal. hahaha! We had the creamy mushroom soup first, then Queen got her Mac and Cheese baked Marconi, and she finished almost more than half of her meal and my meal hasn't come! So went to ask the waitress and she went to check and came back with a bowl of soup-of-the-day, apologizing and saying to wait for 5 more minutes, while I drink my free soup. hahahha! That's good service. And then my dish came :)) And its very yummy!

I was very apologetic cos' I keep sniffing and I feel like dying after walking around for a while, trying to stop my runny nose, and feeling so horrible with my face...my face on medication. Burning like hell and itch too much and now a bit of peeling with lots of mountains and bumps and patches of red everywhere. Its a wonder bf didn't run away from me. And I bought blending stumps! FINALLY! I have been finding that all the while and I found it in spotlight which I never expected it. All the while, I thought spotlight only sell furnitures. LOL. And after looking at a group of people knitting there, I feel like wanting to take up knitting as well, but the knitting needles are all so expensive and the yarn too!

Hmmm...should I take up that? Tsk tsk.

Hello! Its National Day ! :)) And I only have a few minutes to spare before going out with my family later. I just made two cards today, using the same colour theme. Thanks to my friend who actually bought the papers for me from malaysia, and the designs are sooo nice! And I decided to use rhinestones to embellish my cards as well. I say, it really gave a very nice effect :))

Another Mojo monday challenge :)

I find this sketch a little difficult. Been cracking my brain for an hour before finally coming up with this:

I think I like the overall effect of the butterflies. It adds to the plainness of card...and plus, I just love butterflies! :)) The image of the branches is embossed using pink embossing powder, and the butterflies, I added some glitter to it.

And I bought new stamps over at etsy.com.

I am starting to have liking for my own cooked pasta. :))

I was kinda lazy to take out the two-way pan to "bake" it, so instead, I went to microwave it, hot enough to melt the cheese on top and in between layers of the macaroni and it stills taste delicious! :))

I was watching the food channel, which starred Martin Yan's cooking. He's one of my favourite TV host cook since young :))

While watching him introducing the food from Beijing and him cooking some chinese dishes, I suddenly feel a pang of sadness and longing for my grandmother's popiah. Grandma had a stroke few years back, so I couldn't taste her cooking anymore. I really miss her cooking. Back then, she would prepared the dishes, especially the main dish where you add carrots, stewed turnips (I think its turnips..), salt pepper, etc...that one is really delicious!

Then the whole family will sit down and start making our own popiah. And I would always add more dark sticky sauce, and peanuts and lettuce. So yummy :)) It is so much better than buying outside, mostly because got more 料 :)) I really want to learn how to cook stewed turnips! But I asked my mum just now if we can make popiah again, but as usual, she doesn't have the patience to teach me nor make the ingredients...talking about having workaholic parents...eating the same dishes everyday makes me wish for something different.

And before grandma's illness, we always go to the east cost park seafood centre there to eat. But, the place we usually frequented closed down. Which is really disappointing, since I love the food and the atmosphere there.

Now, I am wishing for japanese sashimi.

Is our life being mapped out by fate?

I had my palm read by a palmist, and face read by a relative, and name analyzed by another relative. And a part of it makes me reflect on myself, a part of it makes make me happy and a part of it makes me feel that the future is ominous. Everyone walks a different path. And each path has lots of forks and turns, and you have to experience the hurt, unhappiness, sadness, joy, etc to enable you to walk back into the correct path. Or maybe you are just aimlessly walking the wrong one all the while?

Complicated stuff. As usual, people say I think too much. And now, what keeps me thinking is how those couples can actually commit a lifetime with each other, saying vows and promises that you can’t even certain that you can keep. Or how couples know that they love each other deeply. Of course, people keep saying, “oh, you will know when the time come.” Or “Follow your heart and feeling, and you will understand. It kinds of gave me the frustration when I seek for all these.

I once had held this kind of topic with my aunt. And she were saying about凡事随缘. Maybe now I do not understand fully spiritually what it means. She explained that in every relationship, it is fated. No matter how much you want to end it, or continue, it’s fated.

I chanced upon this story which does explain a bit:

“There was a scholar who was about to marry his fiancee. On the day of marriage, his fiancee changed her mind and married someone else. The scholar was devastated afatend fell ill. His family sought all kinds of medical treatment for him, but he didn't show any sign of recovery. They were about to give up hope on him when a wandering monk approached them. After learning about the scholar's condition, the monk went near the scholar's bed and took out a mirror from his bag and showed it to the scholar.

In the mirror, the scholar saw a vast ocean and the naked body of a woman, (murdered) lay on the beach. A man passed by, looked at the body, shook his head and left.

Another man who passed by, saw the body, took off his robes to cover the body and left.

Finally came a man passing by who saw the body, dug a hole and laid the body carefully to rest before burying it.

The scene in the mirror suddenly changed.

The scholar saw his fiancee in a nuptial chamber and another man was lifting her wedding veil...

The scholar blinked at the monk, confused. Slowly the monk explained, "The woman whose body you saw on the beach was your fiancee in her previous life. In your previous life, you were the second man who gave her his robes to cover her body. To repay your kindness in this lifetime, she loved you for a period of time and became your fiancee. However, ultimately the man whose favor she has to return for the rest of her life is the third man who buried her. And that man is now her husband.

Enlightened, the scholar sat up and recovered from his depression.”

That is fate. Fate is not something meant to be forced upon. What is yours will eventually come to your arms; what is not yours will never come to be. So maybe in relationships, some of us (couples) have the 缘 to meet and have a relationship, but doesn’t have the 缘 to be husband and wife. I think it might be all about karmic compatibility.

Or is our lives controlled by the choices we made? Our own free will? and not being mapped out in destiny?

Sometimes, I just wish that we have the power to see into the future, to know who we can spend a lifetime with, which career works best for us, without having to go thru’ the pain of breakups and hussle of it. Looking for Silhouette Digital Craft Cutter

I have been searching for this machine locally, but so far, I always find cricut instead. I still think Silhouette Digital Craft Cutter is much better! I was sorely tempted to order it online, but imagining the shipping fees and not to mentioned the shipping insurance...I think I'll wait until the machine surfaces here in singapore.

Many reasons why I prefer the machine over cricut anytime. Here's the link, and you compare and you will understand why I prefer Silhouette SD :))

And I just check that there is this art store which carry the Silhouette brand at Clarke quay. I think I gonna drag bf there...if he don't mind that is. I hope he really dun mind! Or else I will have to drag my poor girlfriend instead and we will ended up shopping and spending money on clothes instead. =X
